Donald Maclachlan

Donald was born and brought up on Massachusetts' north shore. He was classically educated at Bates College and received his doctorate at Tufts University. Since attending The Museum of Fine Arts School 1991 where he studied jewelry as wearable art, Donald has pursued his life long dream of becoming an artist. The natural beauty of the ocean, hills and mountains of New England inspire Donald's designs and choice of materials. His work combines a range of technical skills including reticulation and weaving with a broad palate of materials: exquisite gemstones, sterling silver and multi-colors and carats of gold. Donald MacLachlan's work has been featured in some of the finest jewelry galleries in the United States including Aaron Faber Gallery in New York, The Artful Hand and Quadrum Galleries in Boston, Fairchild & Company in Santa Fe, Haphaestus Gallery in Palm Springs, and R.W. Wise Goldsmiths in Lenox, Massachusetts. Donald still lives by the ocean, where he pursues his twin loves of art-jewelry and painting. He lives with his partner, Stephen and their two Shi Tzus, Lucy and Ricky.
